Requisition Title : PROJECT MANAGER - OPERATIONS (ENG) - 22000414 Work Locations : FAC MGT COMM CT ADMN - 600 COMMERCE STREET - DALLAS Organization : ENGINEERING AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT Brief Description The Project Manager – Operations (Engineer) is responsible for capital improvement building construction and renovation projects throughout Dallas County. The Project Manager– Operations (Engineer) also works with contracted engineering, architectural, and environmental firms on issues affecting/impacting County buildings. Detailed Description Directs the administration of construction contracts through on-site Inspection of the work. Acts as liaison between contractors and staff Evaluates and analyzes design for accuracy, technical sufficiency, economical acceptability and directs the preparation of the construction documents after determining the cost estimate. Prepares and coordinates documents for advertisement of building construction projects attends pre-bid conferences with bidders and suppliers. Works with Lead Project Manager - Operations to administer various annual contracts Reviews contractor invoicing and advises payment. Plans, organizes and develops capital improvement programs for newexisting building construction improvements projects to be designed and constructed under supervision of the Lead Project Manager - Operations. Supervises and coordinates statistical research data necessary to prepare and recommend improvements to projects. Develops and maintains progress reports on current building, and other projects under departmental direction. Provides technical assistance to Lead Project Manager - Operations in policies including acquisition of property, departmental objectives, building constructionrenovation, and contract administration. Serves on various selectionreview boards including for consultant, architectural, geotechnical laboratory testing services, and for proposal reviews. Negotiates contracts for consultant services with architectsengineers for geotechnical testing andor the design of building construction projects. Ensures that the established criteria are met and communicated by external contractors with various elected officials and department heads. Performs related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture, or in a job related field of study. Three (3) years of work related experience as a Registered Professional Engineer or Licensed Architect. Skilled in the use of standard software applications and computer aided design (AutoCAD) and drafting software. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the public. Must be licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer or Architect in the State of Texas. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. Standard office environment. Ability to travel to various work site locations.
