Responsibilities
- Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
- Prepares and completes action plans
- Writes technical specifications and work scopes
- Embraces production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Resolves problems, completes audits, identifies trends, determines system improvements, and implements change
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job
- Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Organizes the project start to finish; knows the steps and initial set up, secures the right inputs, secures the right permits
- Works efficiently in close proximity with the operations
- Interfaces with other departments, vendors, stakeholders
- Seeks the most cost effective path of implementation of project
- Ensures vendors’ adherence to contract and standards
- Inspects and approves work to secure desired results
- The position does not have any direct reports, but this is a possibility in the future
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or related field
- Experience in hydroelectric field is extremely valuable
- Utility experience is a plus
- Proficient with spreadsheet software and
- CAD is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, project management software, and scheduling software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Project and process management skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Budget development and tracking skills
- Critical thinking
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Travel: 20-25%
