Overview
SOSi is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Rock Island, IL. The Project Manager is responsible for the initiating, planning, organizing, executing, documenting, monitoring and controlling, and closing multiple concurrent development projects. The project manager will act as Scrum Master to manage the delivery of multiple concurrent development projects. Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects on behalf of the Program Manager.
- Manage the relationship with our customer and government task leads for all items related to assigned projects.
- Facilitate scrum activities for the development team (stand up, planning, review)
- Represent the development team in weekly meetings with the customer to provide status on current projects, receive feedback on completed projects, and solicit inputs on future projects.
- Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop project requirements, scope, and timeline.
- Own and manage end-to-end project scope and adjudicate any shift in requirements with technical teams.
- Develop and manage project plans to organize and track multiple/concurrent workstreams.
- Utilize project coordination expertise and tools such as MS Project to deliver projects on time.
- Facilitate the discussion and testing of both existing and new tools/projects that require the coordination of multiple teams.
- Resolve any roadblocks to delivering assigned projects on time.
- Provide business analysis on existing tools and processes to improve and streamline current operations.
- Work with the development lead, program manager, and customer to prioritize and resolve issue backlog.
- Monitor and identify risks with identified project timeline, resource assignments, and tool integration.
- Assist with the creation of monthly reports and develop ad hoc reports as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably across software development projects in a DoD environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
- Knowledge of agile techniques such as Scrum and SAFe.
- Skilled with Microsoft Office suite to include MS Project.
- Ability to make process improvement recommendations and willingness to lead improvement initiatives.
- Ability to quickly adapt to customer dynamic and requirement shifts.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a DoD IT environment.
- Experience with Serena Business Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software development, or related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (Agile, Scrum, PMP).
- Fluency in a foreign language desired.
