Job Description Summary The Project Management Associate – Marine/New Build is responsible providing planning and administrative support on projects with moderate to high complexity and occasional monitoring/management of projects with low complexity. Responsibilities include supporting project planning/execution/monitoring & controlling, coordination of engineering and subcontract resources, and issues resolution with a focus on customer satisfaction, On Time Delivery (OTD) and revenue/CM growth. In this role, you will meet day-to-day short-term objectives and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Job Description Essential Responsibilities:
As the Project Manager Associate – Marine/New Build you will:
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Engineering and Finance to help support in planning, coordinating and executing the design, build and installation support activities across GE and subcontracted resources ensuring that work is completed within the requirements of the contract and ensuring cost, quality and schedule constraints are met or exceeded
- Identify, manage and execute day-to-day operational aspects of project scope while adapting to changing needs and requirements of the customer – this will include coordinating equipment deliveries from suppliers to meet On Time Delivery.
- Maintain accurate project milestone accuracy and provide back-up data for key business metrics and revenue forecasting
- Provide support for the project revenue, contribution margin and cash collection targets in support of the PC North America region. Support day to day operations including project reviews, CMR reviews, one OTR process and regional reviews
- Regular tracking and communication of project progress, open action items and all aspects of project status to Project Team including project kick-off, regular status updates, risks and opportunities and project closure
- Support Identification, escalation and resolution of issue/risks which might affect customer satisfaction and GE operational targets
- Support relevant and data-driven project schedules per customer requirements and develop reports to maximize critical path visibility to the project team while focusing on overall On-Time Delivery.
- Be a main contact between Customer and Supplier in support of Commissioning Efforts. This will include tracking and full resolution of outstanding parts/services needed to support Commissioning.
- Interface with various functions within the business to monitor status of the project and ensure timely execution of project requirements and deliverables (such as project documentation and deliverables tracking, procurement and material).
- Be a self-motivated team player who can drive cross-functional teams and communicate the results effectively to customers
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in project planning, project management or engineering)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in project planning or Project Management
Eligibility Requirements:
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain classified clearance
Desired Characteristics:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (including Microsoft Project) and SAP
- Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred
- Background in a customer interaction position
- Ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
- Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures, and practices
- Ability to make decisions with regards to completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to develop clear message using MS Office tools (powerpoint, word, excel, project)
- Ability to interact and communicate with internal customers (Internal customers may include; Sales, Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Management personnel)
- Ability to support multiple projects and additional tasks when needed
- Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities to meet business needs and department goals
- Ability to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
- Expertise to cover a wide range of Military and Commercial standards and applications
- Deliver Reliability, Availability & Maintainability studies
