The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Program Support Specialist on the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Buildings Technologies Office (BTO) communications team. The Program Support Specialist will support the Department in planning, management, and evaluation of DOE’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR (“HPwES” or “Program”) Program, and Home Energy Score Program. The Home Energy Score and Scoring Tool are used by DOE partners, including state and local governments, utilities, and non-profit organizations to motivate homeowners and homebuyers to invest in energy efficiency improvements.
The Program Support Specialist will:

  • Provide assistance in the preparation of briefings and presentations for internal DOE purposes, Learn and manage HPwES Microsoft Teams, including populating it
  • Learn and manage HPwES portion of the DOE Salesforce tool
  • Learn and manage HPwES portion of the ESConnect tool
  • Learn and manage HPwES portion of the MESA tool
  • Learn Drupal and manage HPwES webpages on EPA ENERGY STAR website and track web analytics
  • Track and handle HPwES Inbox inquiries
  • Prepopulate, distribute, collect, and analyze HPwES Program Sponsor biannual and annual reports, including Microsoft database
  • Arrange HPwES Leadership Calls and take/distribute notes and track action items
  • Oversee HPwES Participating Contractors Century Club awards process
  • Help as needed on the HPwES-related portion of the annual ENERGY STAR Awards process
  • Oversee logistics of HPwES-related events (e.g., workshops at the annual national BPA conference, Working Groups, etc.) and attend select events
  • Oversee logistics and hosting of HPwES partner calls and webinars, including polling
  • Assist with the development of HPwES presentations
  • Track and manage the on-boarding of new HPwES Program Sponsors, working with the HPwES Account Manager
  • Assist with HPwES communications (e.g., eNewsletters, gathering/tracking resource materials, social media, special projects similar to the 1 millionth home, etc.)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable data management tools
  • Familiarity with website development tools

Required Education

  • AA/AS/BA/BS Degree or other appropriate discipline that provides the functional skills to perform the functions and responsibilities as described in the PWS
  • Four years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree
