Purpose

The Program Supervisor for Foster Care to Permanency (Social Work) is responsible for day-to-day supervision of assigned Permanency Staff. Is responsible for assuring that all services are delivered in accordance with the agency's mission, vision, and service philosophy while assuring services are organized and provided in a manner consistent with North Carolina State licensing rules, COA Standards, contract requirements, and all applicable state and federal laws that apply to the program for which they are responsible.


Area of Responsibility

  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of CHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and supervise a 24 hour on call availability to assist direct service staff in crisis situations involving clients
  • Monitor critical risk incidents and assure they are documented, reviewed, and reported to Program Supervisor in an accurate and timely manner
  • Participate in the review all elements of services delivered. Identify service methods/outcomes that require positive reinforcement or corrective action - individually or as a group
  • Co-facilitate the development and implementation of annual specialist improvement plans with the Program Supervisor. Review progress towards annual improvement plans quarterly and at years end. Assist Program Supervisor with the development of new/revised annual improvement plans as needed
  • Management and navigation of the ECHO system in order to access program reports, complete necessary data entry, and provide assigned program staff with assistance
  • Evaluate and approve program expenditures according to agency policy for assigned staff.
  • Participate in public relations activities
  • Assist and/or co-facilitate information sessions for prospective foster/adoptive families in assigned regional offices
  • Work in conjunction with Program Supervisor to out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. This includes recruiting, direct supervision, workforce development, and retention of employees according to agency policies and procedures
  • Responsible for providing services to an assigned limited caseload.


General

  • Adhere to Social Work Code of Ethics or to the Code of Ethics appropriate to the applicable licensure/credentialing and comply with professional standards of the Child Welfare League
  • Display sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
  • Perform other duties related to department goals and projects as needed


Qualifications

  • Minimum of MSW or Master's degree in Human Services field, with significant relevant experience required
  • Strong organizational skills, resource development, and budget development experience a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of human service systems for youth and young adults and an ability to bring together and collaborate with diverse community partners
  • Maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license, adequate auto insurance, and have access to an operating vehicle in order to attend to CHS business
