If you are ready to work on the root causes of many public health problems, you will want to apply to become a Program Specialist 1 with the Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) and our Healthy Beginnings Program. Healthy Beginnings is a grant-supported home visiting program designed to strengthen first-time families by providing education, support, parenting skills, and resource assistance in order to prevent child abuse and neglect. You will be supporting first-time parents by providing support and information about child safety, child health, disease prevention, child development, and parenting skills. High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to work a flexible, but family-oriented schedule. Some early morning or evening visits may be necessary to accommodate client-families. Knowledge of child growth and development process (birth-5 years).
This is a part-time with Benefits position that will work 20 hours per week. Must be flexible including weekends.

Minimum Qualifications
Valid driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.

Knowledge of community resources.
Knowledge and previous experience working in evidence-based home-visiting using the Healthy Families America model (HFA).
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Ability to research and analyze complex data.
