Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

Within 30 days, you will become familiar with VMWare’s business model and culture. You will meet the team and the key stakeholders to the role. You will learn about the Incentive Teams objectives and key results (OKRs). You will work with your onboarding partner to learn the business and how your role fits into the org and the company.

Within 90 days, you will be supporting some of the enablement elements for our channel incentives. You will be driving meetings, doing research and executing tasks inline with program execution. You will align to company and team strategy for decision making and participate and contribute to MBRs and QBRs.

Within 180 days, you will be taking on responsibility for communication and enablement elements in our channel incentives programs. You will know your stakeholders, their business needs and how to correlate those into your business. You will be supported by the team but leading contributions for your elements including executive reporting, MBR and QBR responsibilities. You will also have your yearly goals written and staring to align your work toward those goals for the next 6 months.

Within a year, you will fully own your program elements, you will have partner communication and enablement responsibilities and you will be able to contribute to stretch projects within your area of expertise to ensure our business is well covered. You will also identify areas of improvement during your learning process and iterate on the strategy to continue improving our culture


The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

You will be working with many exciting stakeholders in the business. The teams we support are driving cutting-edge technologies for the company and need acceleration in their business. You will be a key contributor in landing and executing the programs that will deliver that uplift to VMWare.

You will drive cloud-focused technologies through your program enablement elements. Daily you will be coordinating with v-teams across the business that will support business goals, contribute to your enablement portfolio and help you execute the programs our teams develop.

You will have close relationships with Enablement, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Geographies. The project management skills you bring will help you develop launch timelines, RACI outlines and hold the v-team accountable to their portion of the project. You will work with the others on the team to bring a holistic approach to our incentives roadmap execution.

As a grouping of activities, you will be doing the following on any given day/week with excellence:

  • Communications:
    • Executive communications with numerous stakeholders
    • Stakeholder development & rhythm of business communications (monthly, quarterly, yearly)
    • Partner-facing communications for program enablement and incentive team representation
    • Lead and drive VMLive Webinars, including creating content, aligning speakers and driving awareness with Marketing.
    • Writing content blocks for decks, newsletters, social and events
    • Developing decks, collateral and enablement materials for your portfolio of programs.
    • Team communications and holistic reports for internal use.
    • Develop content for executive and stakeholder readouts as needed to help convey proposed program changes and design proposals that support VMware’s GTM strategy.
  • Governance of the program lifecycle. From design to launch to the feedback loop/redevelopment. We are agile in our methodology.
    • Create the compliance and enablement BOM for multiple program elements/programs.
    • Work with our Legal and Compliance team to develop the Terms and Conditions that govern the programs for partner experience and readability.
    • Lead an execution v-team to ensure your program portfolio is following all corporate governance for projects, compliance, operations and design.
  • Project Management: Execution for the program
    • Coordinate with our marketing and communications experts to contribute to partner-facing collateral and partner training to drive our channel partners to flawless execution.
    • Workback schedules, weekly/monthly updates and RACI accountability.
    • Clear goal writing, OKR development and reporting
    • Accountable for the timely launch of the program along with the program designer.
    • Actions include creating meeting invite, sending the invite, keeping track of attendees, and providing PMO assistance during actual webinar
  • Design:
    • Contribute to the program design in terms of execution elements and feasibility. Partner with a design lead on the team.
    • Work with global stakeholders – business units, sales and marketing and geographies to gather feedback on the program needs and roadmap according to the business imperatives.
  • Reporting: develop the metric needs and oversee the execution of the reporting to all stakeholders for the program.

You will be joining the VMware Investment and Incentives team reporting to Jo Amato - Sr. Director of Investments and Incentives. You will be a senior member of our team bringing all your many talents to support our team culture.

Our team is part of the Partner Team at VMware. Our role is to support the scale of partners and drive innovation. The team is geographically dispersed across the US and we are supportive of team and individual balance and flexibility. We also believe in personal accountability and execution.
