DutiesSummary

This position reports to the Curator, (Curatorial Branch Head), within the Facilities Services Division, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Treasury Operations. As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for educational programs, publications and historical interpretation relating to the building and collection. Additionally, you will serve as the primary assistant to the Curator for administrative support matters.


Responsibilities

As a Program Coordinator, you will:

  • Coordinate the tour program of the Treasury Building for both the Saturday public tours and VIP tours during the week. Also, coordinates schedules of volunteer docents to assure adequate coverage for Saturday public tours, and for VIP tours that may be requested by senior Treasury officials.
  • Establishes and maintains contact with Congressional staff in scheduling tours for constituents and guests; conducts VIP tours as required and performs other public relations outreach duties related to the tour program and to Treasury's history.
  • Participates in the planning and coordination of special events with various interagency groups that the Office of the Curator is affiliated with. These events can range from network gatherings to outdoor walking tours.
  • Drafts and edits publications relevant to the programs of the Office. Incumbent must monitor supplies and keep brochures and other publications stocked throughout the Main Treasury Building and the Annex.
  • Incumbent tracks and monitors expenditures for the Office of the Curator via the Government purchase card on an Excel spreadsheet. Incumbent monitors the office budget through reports provided by the Administrative Services Branch.

    QualificationsYou must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

    To qualify at the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    • Providing program office support for administrative functions; AND
    • Communicating administrative information with a variety of internal or external recipients; AND
    • Assisting in the planning and executing of events or conferences for an organization (federal, state, local, private, association or equivalent-level) or military service

    Time in Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
