Production Scheduler/PlannerJob Description: A production scheduler/planner works with senior management to develop an acceptable set of procedures to plan production. In doing so, they will be overseeing the efficiency of production scheduling and disbursement of finished production as it pertains to their assigned business unit(s) and/or product line(s).This is a high profile position within the organization, and requires a professional who is extremely organized, detail oriented, and has the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment. Job Skills:

  • Required:
  • Bachelor degree in related field (i.e.: Supply Chain, Finance, etc., or 4 years’ experience in capacity scheduling, material management, and/or inventory control and actively pursuing a related degree.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Must have good working knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Preferred:
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Dynamics AX, or ERP software.
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation of consistent planning, scheduling, and resource management processes to meet varying project sizes, scope, and needs.
  • Participate in project planning and schedule/attend daily/weekly review meetings.
  • Identify process, performance, productivity, scheduling principles, and other improvements (ex: MRP), and work with/train various levels of the organization to plan and deliver those improvements.
  • Analyze schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.
  • Lead project planning and schedule/attend daily/weekly review meetings.
  • Responsible for timely production and distribution of periodic capacity reporting as defined by senior management. This includes but is not limited to reports on usage, sales, trends, and inventory/product status.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of database (ERP System).
  • Confers with business unit and senior management to define schedule requirements, identify overdue demand or time sensitive production.
  • Works with Materials and/or Consumption Coordinator to manage and direct material use based upon disposition status and shelf life, using FEFO (First Expired First Out).
  • Works with Quality department as well as Research and Development on outstanding quality issues.
  • Miscellaneous duties and projects assigned as needed.
