Shift: Monday through Friday, 1:00pm to 9:30pm

Job Summary: Provides general oversight of all production procedures in the Formulated Department, ensuring safety and quality, while providing coaching and support to employees. Maintains strict good manufacturing practices. Reviews ingredients list to ensure accuracy, prepares batches ingredients for production and operates food processing equipment, including but not limited to mixers, sieves and steam kettles adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety.


Essential Functions:

  • Operates food processing equipment, including but not limited to mixers, sieves and steam kettles.
  • Packages finished product
  • Tests and records in process verification checks of finished products as necessary.
  • Completes daily documentation of batches with comprehensive understanding of the data and its impact to the operation
  • Cleans and maintains work area.
  • Adhere to proper current Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Operates within all standard operating procedures.
  • Operates forklifts and other heavy equipment.
  • Use of MRP/ERP for finding inventory related information
  • Prints documentation and prepares batched ingredients for production

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Is competent in all level 2 Production Operator responsibilities
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a Leadership role.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to complete and follow through with written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to operate forklift and/or certified to operate forklift is preferred
  • Ability to verify batches completed by others for accuracy and provide feedback to reduce repeat errors
  • Possesses Leadership qualities
  • Ability to cover at least some responsibilities of a Supervisor, such as conducting start up meetings and sending shift reports.
  • Proactively seeks guidance from Supervisors/Managers
  • Professionally corrects behaviors of other team members to improve safety, GMPS and performance
  • Shows initiative to improve the Production Team
  • Capable of making critical decisions with assistance from Supervisors/Managers

Working Conditions/Physical Factors:

  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour
  • Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
  • Worker may be exposed to hazards in the work place such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current
  • Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts, milk, wheat, etc.)
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Occasionally required to use hands and fingers
  • Frequently required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to taste and smell
  • Frequently required to lift/push/pull/carry weight up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
