PRODUCTION CONTROL SPECIALIST
Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Lear Tuscaloosa T1 Plant
As a member of the Operations team, the Production Control Specialist will be responsible for coordinating production scheduling for all customer requirements, evaluating system performance and recommending improvements, and interfacing with MRP to steer production in the event of critical part shortages.
The Role:
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Coordinating production scheduling across seven production lines
- Identification of bottlenecks through visualized reporting based on production data
- Manage production control activities to reduce outages and incidents
- Manage production planning and scheduling for on-time delivery
- Interaction between MRP and production teams for identified part shortages
- Monitoring shift plans and buffer status to optimize labor balancing
- Scheduling of proto-type and pre-series builds
- Attend daily meetings to prioritize and plan production activities to maintain on-time delivery
- Review daily reports to identify and address equipment malfunctions, material shortages and other factory problems
- Scheduling of replacement demands for customer orders
- Data mining for root cause activities
- Shop floor system maintenance

Your Qualifications:
- Previous experience with production planning
- Experience with Automotive JIT assembly
- Experience with Daimler Component Based Release (CBR) strategies
Bonus If You Have:
- Previous experience with production planning
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- 3-5 years of practical manufacturing experience
- Experience with AS400
- Experience with SAP
