While you may not have heard of IMCO, we have actually been in the area for more than 40 years. IMCO Carbide Tool Inc. started as a small company in Toledo in 1978. By 2020, we had grown to over 120 employees. As essential infrastructure, we did not close due to Covid in 2020. In fact, even with a reduction in business due to the recession caused by the pandemic, we were able to remain profitable and complete a merger with IMC Group (a Berkshire Hathaway Company) with the goal of becoming the largest endmill manufacturer in the United States. We currently have several open positions at IMCO. Below is a description of the Burr Grinder position we have open on our weekend shift. This is a full time position (36 hours) eligible for benefits.

The Burr Grinder positions will perform all activities related to the daily production of carbide cutting tools (burrs) in a manner consistent with the company's strategic plan for delivery performance, cost, and quality.


Some of the current responsibilities of the Burr Grinder position include the following. (This is not a complete list of responsibilities. See the applicable Job Description for additional duties and responsibilities.)

  • Review and implement the company's daily production plan to ensure a customer serviceability is maintained within prescribed limits
  • Be a contributing member of a team that cultivates a culture of mutual respect and teamwork, obtaining both personal and team goals
  • Set up, operate, and maintain precision grinding machines in a manner consistent with company directives and policies
  • Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion
  • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
  • Verify raw materials prior to beginning the job
  • Monitor the availability of the supplies necessary to perform this function, and alert the Production Team Leader when supplies are low
  • Perform in-process quality inspections as required
  • Track, log, and record job production data
  • Mount, dress, and maintain grinding wheels

Working Conditions:

The Machine Operator will work primarily in a production area, where there may be contact with natural oils, synthetic

oils, and various grinding dusts. This area has moderate noise and has climate control.
