Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Product Management this position is responsible for developing the overall strategy and direction for the product line(s) assigned that will maximize sales and profit for BBB both today and in the future. Key to this strategy is a keen understanding of the market through industry research, competitive benchmarking, technology advancements and customer needs. The position requires lead by example as you are the champion of key product lines and aftermarket opportunities.
Job Duties
- Develop and execute the overall strategy for the product line(s) assigned that deliver results that outpace the market.
- Responsible for providing periodic reviews of BBB Industries competitive position in the market and recommendations to advance the Business Unit goals.
- Develop product roadmaps and individual product strategies to navigate the new aftermarket technologies introduced by OEM. Providing key insights to timing of aftermarket impacts through industry research and market research from key data suppliers and partners.
- Using the collective competitive and market/industry intelligence; compile an active list of potential new products and part numbers within the Business Unit to maximize segment growth and profitability. Use the list of potential new part numbers to ensure best in class availability.
- Using the New Product Launch Process; determine the feasibility of potential new part numbers or products in the context of the market demand, pricing and competitive offerings to maximize revenue growth and profitability as well as drive sourcing/procuring of samples for R&D.
- In collaboration with the Engineering, Sales and Category Management, use BBB and industry data to determine product lifecycle stages to properly manage the product from introduction through end of life.
- Work closely with engineering to deliver high quality products to the market that position BBB in a favourable position vs. the competition.
- Maintain competitive part number interchanges for consistency and accuracy.
- Interact with sales teams, category management, pricing team, engineering team, catalog team, technical service and customer service to gather and distribute information.
- Collaborate with commercial team to develop business cases for customer opportunities and drive the strategy to win new business.
- Demonstrates clear thinking regarding forecast drivers, forecast business impacts, and drives to accurate forecasts.
- Participate in data maintenance activities in support of the company’s ERP system.
- Support Marketing Managers with key messaging to our end consumers, buyers, and commercial teams.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in tradeshows updating customer data information for customer service purposes, product knowledge support function.
- Promote a positive working environment to achieve the organization’s goals.
- Exceptional ability to ascertain client requirements, and propose workable solutions based on existing and emergent technologies.
- 15% travel (factory visits, trade shows, commercial team support)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standing desks are available for employees, providing options for standing or sitting while working. BBB promotes a positive office environment with monthly events, organizational development, and mentorship programs. There will be some exposure to manufacturing conditions that may have: dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures. Manufacturing conditions are a low percentage of the overall position. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a strong emphasis toward Technical/Marketing/Business Disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in OE or Automotive Aftermarket market
- OR, 5+ years of product management for consumer goods
- Experience in a leadership role with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Process driven; proven track record of leading projects involving a high level of complexity
- Strong analytical skills; make educated decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions
- Strong overall computer skills Web, Email, FTP, MS Office 365
- Strong understanding of ERP and MRP systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail
- Deep understanding of marketing fundamentals, customers, and key relevant insights (needs, attitudes and values, habits and practices)
- Experience in working with buyers and management of large companies
- Good understanding of both financial reports and budgeting process
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and Talents:
- Bi-lingual language: English & Spanish
- Working within cyber security in automotive or other products
- Knowledge of electrical systems or CANBUS
- Ability to read engineering blueprints/drawing
- Ability to read BOM exposure to Materials department and Materials functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Problem solver; capable of finding creative solutions and ingenuity to overcome obstacles
- Desire to expand personal competencies and capabilities through education and organizational development
