Job Description


Join the PDC team in an exciting role on our product engineering team for SimpleFuel and Hydrogen Systems. SimpleFuel™ is an on-site hydrogen generation, compression, storage and fueling system that uses water and electricity to produce high purity fuel cell-grade hydrogen. The individual in this position will be part of the team that takes our SimpleFuel product to the next level as we expand production volume and expand our product offerings.

  • Prepares technical reports by analyzing and certifying customer and internal systems and mechanical designs product failures and recommending corrections/improvements/design changes, and by reporting upon their own independently created designs, methods and procedures.
  • Provides designs and drawings, instructions and related documentations for new and existing hydrogen system products and systems. Interacts with project engineering, design, and customer service teams for inputs and deliverables.
  • Drives product enhancements. Reviews drawings, analytics and critical test results and provides final approval.
  • Performs FEA simulations and analysis by working with internal SME’s and outside consultants. Prepares analysis and summary for technical review.
  • Prepares comprehensive technical reports including but not limited to: Process Simulation and FEA reports by analyzing data and certifying customer and internal specifications. Prepares analysis and summary for technical review.
  • Develops tools for automation and streamlining of engineering tasks
  • Reviews vendor and customer drawings for design standards and compatibility with equipment and process. Suggests improvements/design changes.
  • Evaluates existing products for quality and manufacturing methods. Researches product history, industry standards and company standards. Suggests improvements/design changes.
  • Plans work and maintains schedules by completing projects by due dates.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge. Reviews professional publications and participates in professional societies.
  • Attends technical workshops, conferences, and seminars 20-40 hours per year.
  • Writes patents and technical papers when applicable.
  • Presents well written and well-spoken communication.
  • Travels to assigned project site locations when necessary.
  • Manages projects and participates as part of a team.
  • Other job duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is required.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or R&D experience is a plus.
  • Rotating equipment design and/or process engineering experience is preferred.
