Job Summary:

Responsible for product design, testing and evaluation requirements of APQP. Manages development projects for introduction of new or improvement to existing technologies in product design, testing or evaluation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Performs necessary product design and DVP&R testing requirements of APQP interfacing with Project Engineers.

· Performs and requests FEA analysis.

· Generates, schedules, and conducts testing in the Product Laboratory.

· Writes reports to the Project Engineers on any testing and/or evaluations performed.

· Outlines and manages development projects for introduction of new, or improvements to, existing technologies in product design, testing or evaluation.

· Develops test methods and procedures as needed.

· Visits customers and vendors as required.

· Performs necessary function to comply with ISO/IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • AS in Mechanical Engineering or technical discipline required.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or technical discipline desired.
  • Three years experience in systems design preferred.
  • Working knowledge of rubber or plastic injection molding processes and part design preferred.
  • Previous experience and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerances preferred.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing packages and Microsoft Project.
  • Previous CAD (Unigraphics/Catia/NX) experience a plus
