Summary


The Process Technician analyzes molding machine part production and makes adjustments to the machine and/or material to produce the most efficient part.


Essential Duties / Responsibilities


  • Develop expert level knowledge of equipment and materials
  • Become a “go to” resource for production to help troubleshoot issues
  • Lead continuous improvement projects for equipment and materials
  • Assist Plant Manager on plant capital projects
  • Understand product installation best practices and work with customers as needed on site
  • Help create standard work with plant supervisors to ensure all work is performed the same way on all shifts
  • Become document owner for machine “playbook”
  • Understand and communicate key machine settings and standards to supervisors

Required Skills


  • Must possess outstanding verbal communication skills
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and knowledge
  • Must have the ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and wiring schematics
  • Must have the ability to use measuring equipment including gauges such as tape measures, calipers, ohm meters, etc.
  • Must have the ability to review and understand process instructions
  • Must have the ability to use basic hand tools


Education / Experience


  • Prior experience in plant process improvement required
  • Prior experience writing standard work required
  • Prior experience working on capital projects a plus
  • Prior experience troubleshooting end user problems a plus
  • Prior experience with processing of molding machines a plus


Physical Environment


  • This job involves the following physical demands: Walking, standing, climbing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items
  • Lifting requirements are generally up to 40 lbs. with assistance provided if needed
  • Environmental conditions involve generally indoor work, but frequently around hot equipment
  • Job responsibilities involve frequent exposure to oil and grease
