The Admissions Coordinator will be required to carry out duties that involve the screening of clients who need admission into our various treatment programs nationwide. This role works in collaboration with different departments across our community of facilities to obtain necessary billing information and Utilization Review information post admission and must build effective working relationships within the work group for the benefit of our clients. The Admissions Coordinator provides responsible and highly skilled administrative assistance, which requires attention to detail and a willingness to assist the daily operations in all applicable methods and practices. The responsibilities of this position require thoughtfulness and initiative to obtain and relay information, as well as ensure that operations occur in accordance with facility policies and procedures, and applicable local, state and federal regulations.   • Reviews the assessment and VOB information for patients prior to admission, follow up if warranted.
  • Coordinates with Patient Financial Information & Benefits Coordinator on insurance/financial issues that may arise during admission.
  • Collects any payments at time of admission as requested.
  • Forwards all collections and associated documentation to call center.
  • Forwards all collections and associated documentation to call center.
  • Completes and updates forms in operating platforms with patients.
  • Answer phone calls; make appropriate referrals based on information given by caller.
  • Meets with patient to update COB’s and employment verifications as required.
  • Meets with patients to obtain proof of insurance premium payments.
  • Manage transportation requests, including drivers, car service scheduling and dispatching.
  • Meets with families at time of admission, answer any questions / concerns.
  • Maintains and develops required reports as requested by Director of Patient Services.
  • Meets with drivers daily to discuss and coordinate transportation/ conflicts.
  • Monitors and manages all email correspondence.
  • Maintain compliance with insurance contractual obligations.
  • Maintains compliance with AAC policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with state regulations.
  • Supports and promotes an environment of Customer Service.
Qualifications:Education/ Experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other related field preferred
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Texas (RN, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LPC-Inter,)
  • Two years of experience in addiction and or dual-diagnosis preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for
    spelling and grammar.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations;
    listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills;
    and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of the DSM 5, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field
    May be required to work a flexible schedule, overtime, or on-call as needed
    Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk or hear, and smell continually. Ability to stand, walk and reach frequently. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.

  • Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer printers, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
