The Systems Engineering department in the Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems business unit in Annapolis, MD is seeking dependable, cleared individual who is interested in expanding their horizons. Specifically, we have opportunities in Requirements Development and Management, which require an active Top Secret clearance with a Polygraph and DOORs expertise. These are some of the tasks that you would be performing:
  • Help architect the requirements management process for multiple programs
  • Develop solutions for requirements database management and maintenance across multiple related baselines
  • Define system level requirements and establish traceability to customer/contractor documents
  • Derive and allocate requirements to subsystems (performing or coordinating analyses as required) to support hardware, software and interface specifications
  • Employ and improve change request processes including impact analysis
  • Plan and coordinate requirement verification activities; including developing Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTMs), gathering objective quality evidence (OQE), Discrepancy Report (DR) resolution, and waiver requests as applicable.
  • Execute applicable Systems Engineering homeroom processes including metrics reporting though not required, experience with Navy customers and underwater/naval systems such as towed vehicles, Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), SONAR/sensor systems, underwater mechanical structures and cabling, submarine payloads, torpedoes, etc., is desired.
  • Experience in Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Seabed and Subsea Warfare (SSW), and Navy tactics would also align with our business unit.

This is a multi-level requisition; offers will be made at the level to which a candidate satisfies the below qualifications.

Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications for a Principal Systems Engineer:
  • 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Polygraph
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements development/management using DOORS or similar tool.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team.
Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:
  • 9 Years with Bachelors of Science in a STEM field; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with a Polygraph
  • Demonstrated experience in requirements development/management using DOORS or similar tool.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team
