The Microsoft Identity and Network Access team is searching for a program manager for an exciting API architect’s role!
We are looking for experienced program managers with deep developer empathy, desire to learn and passion for problem solving. As companies embark on their digital transformations, they turn to Microsoft Identity and Network Access division to give them secure, convenient, manageable, digital relationships with employees, customers, and business partners. Tens of thousands of organizations, millions of users are successfully using Microsoft Identity services, such as Azure Active Directory, every month. Hundreds of thousands of developers are building powerful and secure applications that authenticate users with Microsoft identity platform or access high value data in the Microsoft cloud (such as Office 365 or Azure) with cloud APIs such as the Microsoft Graph.

Microsoft Graph is Microsoft’s cloud API for dozens of key, high impact products such as Outlook, Teams and OneDrive. Your role as an API architect program manager is to use your API design experience, industry awareness to help teams in the Identity division plan for and architect their APIs to participate in Microsoft Graph. You will educate and evangelize API guidelines, creating API expertise in Identity teams to drive more independent API thinking and design. You will be responsible for API governance, create API guidelines and best practices and incorporate industry trends into how we evolve Microsoft Graph.

Technical experience – API Design, Authentication, Authorization.
Leadership – You need to be expert at leading cross-functional teams on complex projects.
Clarity – Clarity is perhaps our most important value add. Being able to communicate complex designs, multi-product APIs and patterns to Identity teams and partners is a key part of the role.
Collaborator – Partnering with others is at the heart of this role, so top-notch collaboration skills are essential. You’ll be partnering with other API leaders in Azure, Windows, and Microsoft 365 to drive the latest API thinking and cross-company strategic alignment.
Educator – Education and evangelism of the guidelines and getting teams to plan for APIs; training and creation of API expertise in product teams to drive more independent API thinking/design.
Presence – Can you build relationships and influence people… from execs to individuals, across business and technical disciplines? Are you equally deft at leading cross-functional meetings and building rapport in 1:1 conversations?
Framer – Providing effective structure to solve complex problems, organize teams and communicate to stakeholders.

10+ years industry experience (software, cloud services).
BS degree in computer science or similar technical field.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience designing and building developer platforms.
Track record of executing complex, multi-faceted and organizationally distributed projects.
MBA/MS degree in computer science or similar technical field.
Online services experience preferred.
