  • 10+ years of application delivery experience, application development and DevOps practices.
  • 10+ years experience working with customers, preferably interfacing with senior technical leaders.
  • 5+ years exposure to developing or managing event driven architecture or microservices.
  • 5+ years hands on experience developing, managing or working with serverless technologies such as: Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, MQ, and/or Step Functions
As the Principal Partner Solutions Architect - Serverless, you'll enable the partner community Serverless computing. Partnering with other customer facing and service teams, you will work strategically with AWS serverless team and, Technology & Consulting Partners to drive customer success.

You, as the right candidate, are as comfortable white boarding complex software architectures with a roomful of engineers as you are briefing an executive audience. You will get the opportunity to work with a wide array of AWS partners, from well-established tech giants to innovative startups that were born in the cloud. You will work closely with few select partners to dive deeper on their product roadmap. You will also have the opportunity to write whitepapers, deliver technical webinars, speak at events and file patents for what could potentially be a future AWS product or feature. You will get the opportunity to work directly with senior engineers at both customers, partners, and AWS service teams.

You should be a technical domain expert, experienced with Serverless both as a philosophy and having implemented its ideas. Experience working directly with customers is required, and prior experience working with partner solutions is a plus. Ability to work in a polyglot environment and flexibility around learning new programming languages and tools will be very useful.

Previous experience with AWS Serverless and compute services is desired but not required.

This position can be based in Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas, Austin, Atlanta, Irvine, Arlington NY, or near any of our AWS hubs. Up to 30% travel is required.

  • Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large-scale serverless delivery projects - either on premises or in the cloud.
  • Hands on experience working with event-driven or microservices architectures.
  • Experience in the industry as a leader in the fields of application development, agile delivery and DevOps.
  • Hands on experience as a software delivery engineer, manager, system development engineer or developer support engineer.
  • Track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of business environments such as large enterprises and start-ups.
  • Experience working within the software development or Internet industries is highly desired.
  • Understanding of application, web services and network security is highly desired.
  • Technical degrees in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent is highly desired.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps is highly desired
  • AWS Professional Certification (eg., AWS Solutions Architect Professional) or other industry certification.
  • Experience working with training and development teams to build curriculum around architectural best practices.
  • Experience building sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure.
  • Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across all environments.
  • Proficient in several popular scripting or programming skills in any of the following popular languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, Bash/Shell/PowerShell, .NET, Go, Ruby, etc.
