We are the leading over-the-top (OTT) streaming television service, with over 2 million active subscribers and climbing. With an à la carte approach to channel package selection and the pioneering technology of the adaptive streaming world, we deliver the future of television today.
You will be joining a friendly, capable, and even-keeled team of database administrators that operates within the production operations sphere. You will primarily be responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and improving our rapidly-growing NoSQL infrastructure. • Design, install, configure, and maintain NoSQL and relational database clusters (Elasticsearch, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Respond to and resolve access, performance, and other database issues
• Collaborate with engineering teams on database design, deployment, and optimization
• Document and automate team processes (Confluence, SaltStack, bash, python, git)
• Comprehensively monitor and proactively maintain database systems (Zenoss/Nagios, New Relic, ELK, PagerDuty)
• Work in a Linux ecosystem (Ubuntu, CentOS, macOS)

• Proven experience working with highly available databases and applications
• Consistent curiosity and drive to examine and improve, well, everything
• Flexibility to work non-core hours when needed and to take part in our team’s on-call rotation
• 5+ years’ experience working with NoSQL and relational database systems
• A deep and abiding appreciation of SQL performance tuning and database optimization
• Great soft skills
