Summary of Major Responsibilities

Exact Sciences is seeking an experienced individual with strong statistical and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) skills. This role will guide statistical analyses and simulation models for oncology screening and diagnostic products. The individual will coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in HEOR and Medical Affairs in the design, analysis, reporting, and publication of clinical research and real-world evidence to communicate the value of Exact Sciences’ products to healthcare providers, payers, and policy makers. The ideal candidate will have experiences in molecular diagnostics in oncology, be able to apply statistical methods to diverse sources of data, and provide statistical leadership using model-based scientific, and business insights across all phases of product development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform statistical activities and simulation modeling in support of clinical research and real-world evidence generation; including, but is not limited to, protocol and analysis plan development, statistical modeling and data analysis, data visualizations, and preparation of study reports, abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.
  • Ability to collaborates with business units across the organization.
  • Apply statistical methods and model calibration techniques to diverse sources of data; including, but not limited to, clinical trials, retrospective and prospective observational studies, large database analyses, registries, and literature. Perform literature review, compile, and present the information, and develop specific experiments to model the cancer natural history.
  • Represent the statistics function on project teams for HEOR programs, providing strategic input, and contributing significantly to the design and economic modeling approaches.
  • Ability to visualize data and analysis results in varying formats.
  • Consult to cross-functional teams in the development of study databases, data analysis pipelines, and data quality specifications, as needed.
  • Support analysis of clinical laboratory experience data and associated publications, as needed.
  • Work on extremely complex problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data may require the application of complex statistical methodologies to model the disease natural history.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Epidemiology, or other quantitative science.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in industry or academia; including effective programming skills using R, Python, or SAS, and experience in publishing results from clinical or epidemiologic studies.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Health Economics.
  • Advanced knowledge of microsimulation modeling techniques and model calibrations such as used in the Cancer Intervention and Surveillance Modeling Network (CISNET).
  • Experience with clinical trials and post-marketing research.
  • Advanced knowledge of epidemiologic methods, oncology, and genomics.
  • Advanced knowledge of Python and C++ programming.
