Summary:

The Pre-Cert Prior Authorization Coordinator is responsible for handling the authorization process for specialized procedures, ensuring that appropriate authorizations and referrals are requested and received in accordance with the payer-provider contract and recorded in the patient's medical record.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree or experience equivalent required.

• Clinical degree preferred. Preferred.

• Must have sound knowledge of managed care, medical terminology, precert process, claims, and ICD-10 and CPT coding.

• Time management skills.

• Skilled at tactful and diplomatic interpersonal communication and conflict resolution.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to remain focused on detailed work with multiple distractions.

• Ability to remain productive and positive in a stressful work environment.

• Ability to prioritize daily workflow.
