One postdoctoral position is available immediately for motivated candidates at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a premier center for biomedical research located in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. The successful applicant will have a unique opportunity to use a range of biochemical and genetic technologies, especially cutting-edge mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics, to explore the pathogenesis of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases in human iPSC-derived organoids, mouse models and clinical tissues. The overarching aim is to study complex molecular networks by structural, chemical, genetic and systems biology approaches, providing novel insights into disease development, therapeutic intervention, and biomarker discovery for precision medicine (https://www.stjude.org/peng).
Our postdoctoral fellows have extensive interaction with other members for career development in the fields of state-of-the-art technology development and biomedical research. Our publication record is available on Google Scholar (200+ publications and 28,000+ citations). The Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics is equipped with eight modern mass spectrometers and high performance computing clusters, and St. Jude has abundant resources in large-scale gene editing, structural biology (including CryoEM), super-resolution imaging and high-throughput chemical screening. More than 10 group alumni become principal investigators. St. Jude is a top ranked hospital (No. 2 pediatric cancer hospital on U.S. News & World Report in 2019) and a world-class basic research institute with about 300 faculty members.
