Job DescriptionThe Moeller group in the Department of Chemistry at Washington University in St. Louis and the Department for Research Chemistry at Novo Nordisk in Copenhagen, Denmark, are looking to fill a joint postdoctoral research fellowship for a up to two-year position. The project will involve the development of electrochemically based synthetic methodology in the Moeller group and the subsequent application of that methodology to clinical targets at pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. As such, the candidate will spend much of the first year working in St. Louis and much of the second year working in the greater Copenhagen area of Denmark. The result of this dual interaction will be a unique opportunity for candidates to learn about electrochemical methods and organic synthesis in an environment focused on practical, real-world applications.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in chemistry.
- Research experience in organic synthesis.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with electrochemistry and/or peptide chemistry is an advantage.
Working Conditions
This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment.
Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.
