For over 130 years, Children’s Home Society of California (CHS) provided Adoption Placement services. CHS was founded as the first private adoption agency in California and placed nearly over 45,000 children in loving homes. Although CHS is no longer involved in adoption placements, the Post Adoption Program (PAP) continues to work tirelessly to provide the highest quality services to CHS’s adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents, and others eligible for services. CHS has Flexible Workday Policy, which provides a variety of weekly work schedules. This is a Full-Time (37.5 hours), Non-Exempt Position Under the supervision of Children’s Home Society of California’s (CHS) Director of Administrative Operations, the Post Adoption Associate will: · Provide professional services to adult adoptees, birth parents, adoptive parents of minors, and others entitled to services in accordance with CHS policies and procedures and California laws and regulations · Log incoming inquiries and requests · Retrieve and refile records for incoming program mail and rebind records as needed · Review all outgoing program mail · Prepare reports and call logs for the Best Practices and Outcomes Department on a monthly basis · Oversee and report monthly vault cleanings · General office supply maintenance · Vault improvement projects · Observe the confidentiality of adoption case records and program operations · Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as applicable contractual and governmental regulations · Maintain all records in a high-quality manner and within record protection, retention, and destruction guidelines · Work some evening and weekend hours as required · Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: · Master's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field strongly desired OR Bachelor’s Degree required plus three (3) years of experience required · Prior non-profit experience preferred · Ability to prepare and present effective written work, provide strong attention to detail, and produce error-free work · Proactive professional with a strong work ethic and an ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment · Excellent project management and organizational skills · Ability to work independently and must be accessible by telephone and email while teleworking · Ability to manage multiple projects and shift quickly between assignments with a flexible and positive attitude while meeting deadlines · Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment · Commitment to CHS’s core mission and values, and an ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners · Excellent ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and transparently with all levels of staff · Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, WordPerfect fir Windows preferred) · Automobile, valid driver’s license, good driving record, and automobile insurance · Ability to travel via air and surface transportation, including travel between multiple offices SALARY SCALE: $24.32 to $28.46 per hour, based on experience and education plus excellent benefits (including 100% employer paid medical, dental, and vision premium coverage for eligible employees and their eligible dependents and 10% pension plan contribution for eligible employees) For consideration, submit a cover letter and resume.
