Polysom Technicians are responsible for testing and scoring polysomnographic records and home sleep studies.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Director, job duties will include performing sleep lab duties such as scheduling, verifying insurance, faxing results, communicating reports to patients and physicians, setting up DME providers, and pulling patient records. Also responsible for marketing sleep lab in community events and to physicians for departmental growth. Responsible for occasional polysomnographic testing and scoring polysomnographic records, including home sleep studies. Other possible responsibilities include patient hookup, equipment calibration, responding to patient’s needs, troubleshooting equipment. The tools and equipment required to perform the essential functions of this job include polygraphs, oximeters, chart recorders, PAP machines, computers, calculators, air compressors, telephones, copy and fax machines.

Qualifications



  • Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy, EEG, Sleep Disorder program or Neurology school required. Advanced training in Sleep Disordered Breathing preferred.
  • Missouri RPSGT required. Current BLS.
  • Comfortable working with complex equipment. Prior experience in polysomnographic technology, including study scoring required. One year critical care experience preferred. Good interpersonal skills required
