Payments Engineering & Architecture: API Engineering - Software Engineer (golang) (Sr. Associate)

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Expert understanding of architecture and design across all systems
  • Successful contribution to highly scalable, highly performant software systems
  • Hands-on experience with Development frameworks/toolsets and Automated Testing
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices
  • Ability to work with geographically-diverse teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • A clear passion to deliver high quality products

Tech stack and essential skills:
  • REST or RPC, Microservices-based Architectures and Frameworks. Any hands-on experience with Microsoft's dapr a big plus.
  • Hands-on public cloud experience including AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure (multi-cloud preferred). Strong understanding of containers and Kubernetes required.
  • Required at least 2+ years of REST API development in golang with deep experience in at least one of the major frameworks like gin, Revel, or similar. Ideally a Polyglot developer with current hands-on development experience in at least one other major language/framework besides golang e.g. Java/Springboot, Python, JS/NodeJS, or Rust.
  • Ideally, some experience with IaC and DevOps (knowledge of Terraform and Ansible)
  • Hands-on experience with low-latency messaging technologies: Kafka, MQ, or AMPS
  • 12 factor build and working knowledge of CI/CD tools: git, Jenkins, pipelines, Spinnaker
  • Nice to have: GraphQL, Json, Google APIGEE, AEM (Content Management), HAProxy
  • Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability Tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Geneos, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Splunk, DataDog
