What we want

The Policy Analyst II for the College of Architecture, Department of information Technology Services will serve as a lead IT policy analyst. Will work with the four departments, centers, and support entities within the college to assess the security and compliance stance of their IT services while working within our department to develop policy and practice in alignment with the ITIL framework. Plans, coordinates, executes, and documents DR testing scenarios for our internal teams while evaluating the application of university, state, and federal compliance rules of our business. Serves on system level committees to help guide security and policies regulations for the university.

What you need to know

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Three years of information technology support experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
• Knowledge of advanced analysis
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Client relations skills
• Requirement assessment and analysis
• Project management methodology
• Proficiency of the Information Technology Interface Library (ITIL)
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
• Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Three years of security and policy experience in user IT consulting
• Experience with supporting Windows and Mac systems
• Experience with OS and application deployment in Windows and Mac systems
• Experience with certified hardware support, understanding of basic network principles, and troubleshooting skills highly preferred
• Two or more years of customer service-focused IT experience

Responsibilities:

• Policy and Risk - Performs advanced IT policy and practice administration. Conducts and compiles IT policy and practice research. Analyzes and evaluates IT policy and practice research findings. Assesses, documents, and analyzes IT regulatory compliance results against metrics and standards using tools including web accessibility scans, project management, and level-2 analyses. Administers compliance tools. Provides training, interpretation, and guidance on routine IT regulatory procedures including project management templates, and accessibility scans.
• Documentation - Evaluates policy and creates initial drafts of new IT policy. Prepares initial drafts of web accessibility reports. Documents all processes and policy in alignment with the NIST standards and the control catalog. Provides reports to your supervisor and college leadership, and other.
• Consultancy and Collaboration - Works with researchers to provide direction on research data classifications and storage options. Serves as an IT liaison for research faculty and associates. Develop and leads “Research Computing Working Group” in the College. Provides advice, training, interpretation, and guidance on routine IT policy and practice issues. Participates in enterprise-level committees related to IT policy and practice issues. Collaborates with supervisor to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Assists project leaders with developing work plans and time schedules for projects including outlining phases and identifying personnel and computing equipment requirements.
• Operations Management - Leads the annual IT Risk Assessment and completes the PCI Compliance certification. Participates in change management and problem tracking. Coordinates internal review studies, identifies potential areas or compliance, vulnerabilities and risk. Develops and implements corrective actions plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future. Assists with monitoring risk and security vulnerabilities in the College of Architecture. Audits state of compliance with accessibility regulations (websites, vendor products). Works with accessibility office on campus, acquires VPATs (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) from vendors, implement security and policy processes with vendors, and review contracts yearly. Develops risk analysis scenarios and response procedures. Runs yearly disaster recovery exercise with the team and coordinates with the Division of IT.
• Other - Supports the success and objectives of Information Technology Services and the College. Maintains a positive relationships with other departments and personnel that will assist in the development, funding, promotion, and/or public relations of the department of Information Technology Services. Perform other duties as assigned.
