This position exists to protect the lives, health, safety and property of the public by expeditiously receiving, analyzing, interpreting evaluating and prioritizing emergent and non-emergent information via the telephone, radio, computer, alarms, printers, and in person contacts. These calls for service are dispatched to officers and other emergency personnel that may be needed and notifications made to campus communities. The position also processes and maintains police records. May be required to operate department owned vehicles. This position operates and monitors dispatch equipment to include, but not limited to: Please Note: This is an essential services position. The incumbent is required to respond after hours during emergencies and report to work for regular assigned shift during emergency campus closures. There are several requirements that are applicable to this position: Police Dispatcher I Colorado law requires that candidates for state government jobs be residents of Colorado at the time of application. Course work leading to an Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or coursework in business, communications, computer science, law enforcement/police studies or closely related field or may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Course work in business, communications, computer science, law enforcement/police studies or closely related field may substitute for one year of the required experience. Preferred Qualifications: Salary and Benefits: POLICE DISPATCHER I: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $34,200-$48,264 (non-negotiable). The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. POLICE DISPATCHER II: The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $36,756 - $51,888 (non-negotiable). The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
