The Lending Team Manager II is primarily responsible for day to day management of assigned processing team, for validating documentation to ensure loan meets TD Bank policies, and to provide training and/or guidance to team members. This job is a Loan Originator and performs at least one of the following functions, or advertises or communicates that they can or will perform any of these functions, with an expectation of compensation or monetary gain: takes an application, arranges a consumer credit transaction, assists a consumer in applying or obtaining consumer credit, offer or negotiates consumer credit, otherwise obtains or makes an extension of consumer credit for another person.
Job Requirements
- Conducts regular Processing staff meetings; exercises authority concerning personnel actions including staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
- Coaches and mentors direct staffs of processors, closers, and/or collateral specialists who perform the day to day processing of retail lending applications. Typically manages a team of employees depending on complexity and size of the portfolio of loans.
- Ensures processors (delegated) maintain designated accuracy review score; maintain own designated accuracy review score or higher.
- Assigns and levels load pipeline between processors.
- Works with each processor to assign monthly closing goal and submit team goal to Director of Operations.
- Handles all escalated customer service issues related to lending.
- Manages all production reports.
- Manages all Service Level Agreements.
- Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
Qualifications
- 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 Years of loan experience; must have been managing 2 of these years with overall responsibility for processing and closing loans and supervising staff of 7+
- Knowledge of project management fundamentals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented, possessing excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of lending management.
- Ability to think out of the box in processing unique loan requests.
- Prior experience in a high-growth management environment.
- Ability to, multitask, and meet stringent deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
- Excellent PC skills.
- Flexible work schedule (rotation of nights and weekends as required).
- Advanced knowledge of the Bank’s loan products and policies in order to resolve conflicts with external customers.
- Advanced knowledge of the Bank’s Loan Origination System, , and all lending support systems as it relates to processing in order to recognize defects and serve as a tester of new functionality.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of regulations pertaining to lending.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
