Job Description MUPTILE POSITONS WILL BE FILLED FROM THIS RECRUITMENT
To perform a high level of preventive maintenance on a variety of light commercial mechanical equipment at an institutional setting. To work independently to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC auxiliary equipment, plumbing equipment related to mechanical equipment, electrical equipment such as motors, breakers and their associated controls. "This position is designated “essential personnel”for emergecy closings."

Knowledge, skills and abilities Demonstrate the ability to use and follow department and manufacture recommendations and guidelines both written and oral to perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, Plumbing, and electrical equipment and their associated controls. To be knowledgeable of all hand tools use in the trades such as electrical testing meter, water gauges and alignment instruments to perform preventive maintenance on a verity of mechanical equipment.
Special licenses, registration or certification Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record.
Education or training None
Level and type of experience Considerable background performing maintenance and repair of building mechanical systems in a light commercial institutional setting. Considerable knowledge in building HVAC and plumbing system and their operation. Basic knowledge in electrical field.
Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification To hold either a mechanical license, plumbing license, electrical license or equivalent training and certification in all or one of these fields and Norfolk City backflow certification. Training in preventive maintenance and repair of building mechanical equipment in one or more trades.
Conditions of Employment Facilities Management & Constructions employees are considered essential personnel and subject to working during University closings.
