Areas of Accountability Plant Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and installs various types of equipment throughout the plant. The technician functions in a team environment but must also be able to work independently as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Comply with all company safety and work rules Operate bobcats, forklifts, farm tractors, bucket trucks, boom trucks, and Simons lift Correctly operate welders, acetylene torches, and air plasma cutter Maintain and service or assist in maintaining and servicing all material handling, process equipment, and associated equipment in all departments of the complex Maintain all liquid (water, grease, or oil) distribution systems Troubleshoot equipment Correctly operate, maintain, and use equipment and tools required for assigned fabrication and maintenance duties Accurately and legibly record and maintain records General housekeeping duties, including painting and/or scrubbing with detergent solutions Occasionally, situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically listed here Qualifications High school diploma/GED or higher Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in industrial electrical and/or industrial mechanical discipline Experience and knowledge of safety procedures including but not limited to: confined space entry, line opening, fall protection, lockout tagout, and hot work Occasionally push and/or pull heavy objects (approx. 200 lbs. max) Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. from floor to waist level Frequently bend at the waist and/or knees Frequently climb stairs and/or ladders (up to 40 ft.) Ability to distinguish colors (i.e. wire codes) Ability to work in confined spaces Tolerance of varying environmental conditions Tolerance of wet, slippery conditions Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers Accurately read and understand signs, labels, warnings, directions, operator manuals, service manuals, and wiring schematics associated with the maintenance and/or operation of instruments and equipment Accurately perform basic mathematical skills Accurately and legibly record required information and data Analyze recorded data and equipment operation to determine inconsistencies requiring corrective action Accurately follow written and/or verbal instructions Ability to work day/night shifts, or rotations, if applicable Ability to work required hours, possibly 10 or 12-hour shifts, weekend and holiday work as required Ability and willingness to work extra hours on a scheduled/unscheduled basis when required On short notice, employee may be requested to work additional hours to fill in for absent co-worker, accommodate a heavier than normal workload, or assist with special projects
