The primary responsibilities of the Pipefitter are to perform plumbing tasks to maintain a comfortable, safe, and efficient environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the department’s mission and goals. Experience sufficient to qualify as a journeyman Pipefitter, or other Pipetrade classification, with a minimum of five (5) years (60 months) of actual work in the trade, which may have included apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training. The trade for this purpose shall include work normally performed by Pipefitters, Pipefitter Welders, Refrigeration Mechanics, Temperature Control Mechanics, Sprinkler Fitters, and/or Oil Burner Mechanics.
