Overview: Responsible for providing quality physical therapy services under the guidelines set by the state practice guidelines, Medicare, KRH and BH policies. Meets legal, ethical and institutional standards while adhering to the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the department and organization. Services adult/geriatric populations.Responsibilities:- Assists with implementation and follow through of individualized treatment plans as set forth by the supervising Physical Therapist (PT). Adapts and progresses program as appropriate to achieve goals and expected outcome.
- Performs physical therapy treatment to patients relative to age, culture and conditions of patients served by Brendan House.
- Effectively plans, supervises and delegates to provide services in a competent and efficient manner. Willing to instruct therapy aides, assist students, and other staff members.
- Implements and documents specific and individualized treatment programs for patients according to the principles of physical therapy, hospital policy and payer requirements. Completes all required documentation in a timely manner according to payer guidelines (Medicare, Private Insurance, Medicaid) and Montana practice guidelines for physical therapy
- Communicates with patients, supervising physical therapists, peers, family members, and team members regarding PT related information and skills in regards to all aspects of care.
- Collaborates with supervising PT to develop goals and discharge planning for patients.
- Enhances rehabilitation services by participating in projects/programs within the department, the facility and the community.
- Exhibits knowledge and skill in the use of materials, d equipment, processes, procedures and techniques currently used in physical therapy.
- Achieves set productivity standards per department protocol.
Qualifications:- Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant or Physical Therapy program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association required.
- Current Montana Physical Therapy Assistant license or possess a temporary Montana PTA license required.
- Minimum three (3) years experience as a PTA preferred.
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR required.
- Must communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members and patients. Possess ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Possess ability to make independent judgments under stressful situations at times. Must work effectively and efficiently without direct supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
