Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing support to the pharmacist in the day to day functioning of the pharmacy. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the pharmacist in dispensing, delivery and retrieval of medications
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs
- Prepares IVs and TPNs using proper aseptic techniques
- Performs general clerical duties for the department including completion of reports and forms as directed
- Maintains inventory of medications and supplies
- Under the direction of the pharmacist, inspects and removes outdated or excess stock and prepares it for return or disposal
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician preferred. If not certified, must complete certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be eligible for registration with the Kansas Board of Pharmacy
