The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Routine duties include Unit-Dose dispensing, controlled, substance distribution and drug accountability. Specialized knowledge of joint commission and federal and state drug law is necessary. A working knowledge of pharmaceutical products, product differentiation and their respective packaging is necessary. The Technician demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and follows guidelines as described in the department's policies and procedures. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service. Communicates with external contacts frequently and is responsible to ensure ongoing service. HOURS: Mon.
