- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, 70 hours a pay period, 7 nights on, 7 nights off rotation
Under the leadership of the Operations Manager, Pharmacy Leader, or Network Director and the technical guidance of a pharmacist, assists the pharmacist in filling medication orders, preparing IV admixtures and maintaining appropriate levels of medications in pharmacy, nursing units, service carts and trays to meet patient care needs.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Must hold an Indiana Pharmacy Technician Certificate or an Indiana Pharmacy Technician in Training Permit.
- Must be certified by the national PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or the National Healthcareer Association (ExCPT Exam) within one year of hire and maintain thereafter.

- Must hold an Indiana Pharmacy Intern license.
Experience: At least 6 months experience as a hospital pharmacy technician is preferred.
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Must be certified by the national PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or the National Healthcare Association (ExCPT Exam) within one year of hire and maintain thereafter.
Other: Previous exposure to computers is required. Must be able to work flexible schedule.
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and written.
- Requires strong mathematical computation and organizational skills to process pharmaceutical doses and complete pharmacy inventory functions.
- Requires knowledge of a hospital pharmacy operation's practices and procedures, pharmaceutical terminology, as well as the importance of accurate processing and documentation.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of pharmacy information system after appropriate training is completed.
- Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with all internal and external unit customers.
