Job summary:

This is a grant funded, full-time position in the Partners for Education Department that is expected to continue for three-years. The Program Manager will report to the Chief Strategy and Finance Officer and will work closely with the Rural Impact team to provide project management for national meetings, communities of practice and convenings. For each assigned project, the Program Manager will provide technical assistance, develop materials, support learning (virtually and in person), collect data and communicate logistics and program information to stakeholders and participants. Additionally, the Program Manager will assist with the development, design and continuous improvement of learning resources, materials and tools, and processes.

Education required to ensure success in this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred.

Experience required to ensure success in this position:
  • Demonstrated experience designing, hosting and creating learning resources.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.

Preferred Special skills, knowledge and abilities:
  • Experience leading and designing virtual and in-person learning events
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

License, certification, or registration necessary:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Background check, including social media check

Physical requirements:
  • Ability to work in a high energy office
  • Ability to accurately communicate and exchange information with partners, stakeholders or meeting participants in person, in writing, and through visual aids.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Able to travel independently by car and plane regionally or nationally
  • Ability to navigate campus/public buildings and grounds.

Environmental conditions:
  • Work at a Partners for Education office in Appalachian Kentucky with regular national and regional travel.
  • Work primarily in a professional, fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions and moderate to high levels of activity.

Ability to operate the following vehicles or equipment:
  • Standard office equipment – computer, telephone,
  • Motor vehicle – college cars/vans

Primary duties and responsibilities:

  • Serve as a project manager by creating, implementing and monitoring project management plans for virtual and in-person events, communities of practice and convenings to include obtaining bids and quotes for services, securing meeting venues and virtual platforms, managing virtual platforms, securing appropriate agreements, and tracking marketing and registration materials.
  • Assist the teams with managing project budgets to ensure that all expenditures are allowable, allocable, and reasonable, and spent in accordance with the project plan.
  • Work collaboratively with teams, session facilitators or consultants, and meeting participants to determine the appropriate content to design and produce.
  • Manage the design, development, testing and publishing of engaging audio, video and visual learning resources to support the learning opportunities.
  • Test innovative ways to share content with different audiences and share knowledge.
  • Use continuous improvement processes to support the refinement and updates to learning materials and project management activities.
  • Create and maintain a virtual online learning depository of materials that can be used throughout the organization.
  • Assist with data collection and support the reporting and evaluation of the assigned projects.
