Certified Pest Control Technicians are responsible for solving and preventing pest problems, protecting health, and safeguarding property through the integrating pest management process. 2. About us
a. Build positive, strong relationships with customers. Work to exceed customer expectations. Make suggestions to customers on how to avoid pest problems. Report to customers before and after providing pest control services. Explain treatments and actual or potential pest problems face-to-face with customers.
b. Inspect property to ascertain possible sites of pest invasion and determine treatment type required to control and prevent infestation.
c. Identify pests including, but not limited to: termites, mosquitoes, bed bugs, ants, spiders, mice, rats, roaches, bees, wasps, fleas, ticks, mites, pantry pests, gophers, and moles.
d. Mix and apply chemical solutions, baits, powders, and granules in accordance with label instructions.
e. Adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and follow all label instructions.
f. Maintain professional, neat appearance wearing a clean company uniform.
g. Adhere to a daily service schedule by arriving on time to each customer location.
h. Manage customer appointments and communications through company provided technology.
i. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service vehicle.
j. Maintain proper inventory of tools, equipment, and materials in company vehicle.
k. Conduct Wood Destroying Insect inspection and treatment reports and graphs.
l. Calculate area dimensions requiring treatment.
m. Utilize appropriate protective gear and equipment during application.
o. Set mechanical traps and remove dead rodents.
p. Participate in training opportunities provided to enhance knowledge and to meet requirements for licensing.
q. Respond cooperatively with requests for help from fellow employees.
r. Identify opportunities to offer additional company products or services.
a. Ability to apply pesticides in accordance with established regulations and to read, understand and follow pesticide label instructions.
b. Ability to learn knowledge of common practices, tools and terminology used to control pests.
c. Ability to work from sketches, drawings, plans, and specifications.
d. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
e. Ability to perform mathematical calculations to estimate materials and time needed to complete task.
f. Ability to lift 50 lbs, wear 50 lbs of equipment on back, use a ladder, and enter/inspect attics and crawl spaces.
g. Ability to use equipment and technology necessary to perform tasks (includes iphone, iPad, camera, Adobe)
h. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate with a diverse population.
i. Ability to work in hot and cold weather conditions in a company uniform consisting of long sleeve shirt, pants, and boots.
a. High school diploma or GED
b. At least 18 years old
d. Clean driving record
e. The ability to pass a background check including a drug screen
f. Provide documentation of ability to work in the United States
g. Currently possess valid Kansas Department of Agriculture commercial pesticide applicator license (with 7A and 7E categories) or successfully obtain commercial pesticide applicator license (with 7A and 7E categories) upon completion of company training.
