People Operations Generalist (Hybrid Remote / San Francisco)

Better Heath Technologies is modernizing the archaic home medical device industry and our members love what we are doing. Our organization is growing rapidly to meet demand and we're hiring a People Operations Generalist to champion the entire employee lifecycle, supporting programs, processes, and initiatives across all strategic pillars of HR to nurture, grow, retain, and challenge people. As a member of the People Ops team, you are integral to our ability to take care of our people and stay in compliance. Working with the Head of People and with multiple internal teams and stakeholders, you will have a front row seat and direct impact on our next phase of growth.

Better Health is creating a new medical provider type, disrupting the $60B home medical supply industry. How? By bundling peer support, coaching, education, and home delivery of medical supplies in an end-to-end care solution we turn the focus to our members and help them choose the best medical supplies to address their underlying chronic conditions.

Since its inception in November 2019, Better Health has gained Medicare licenses in 46 states, 11 Medicaid licenses, and preferred national provider contracts with Oscar Health, UHealth, Humana. As a result, our member base has rapidly grown rapidly grow month over month with virtually no churn. We are backed by Caffeinated Capital, General Catalyst, 8VC, and Bill Ackman, as well as several prominent healthcare leaders including the CEO and President of eHealth.


So, what will you do as our People Operations Generalist?

  • Manage and iterate on a seamless and comprehensive general onboarding program
  • Support leadership and management by facilitating learning and development and performance management initiatives
  • Assist implementation of HR systems and own their hygiene
  • Plan and execute quarterly team events for the company, and support adhoc events as they come up
  • Develop policies and processes as the need arises
  • Establish yourself as a point person in the company for all things related to HR
  • Manage vendors for our small SF office


What you have:

  • 3+ years in People Operations or HR
  • Experience supporting the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to retention to offboarding
  • Experience supporting programs, processes, and initiatives across onboarding, learning and development, culture, compliance, and more.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices in human resources.
  • A bias for action and a passion for working in fast paced startups.
