The Payment Poster will have the responsibility to post payments made from insurance companies to the billing software. Payment Posters have strong communication skills and are able to work with the team to resolve and prevent problems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Obtain payment information from clients
- oversees the intake of payments
- Keep track of payment deposits from patients and insurance reconciling details
- Assess explanation of benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies
- Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Maintain billing software by updating rate change, cash spreadsheets, and current collection reports.
- Utilize payment portals or make phone calls to obtain EOBs
- Research payment issues and communicate with other departments to resolve
- Identify possible low payments based on trends and history
- Assist with registering for payment portals or identify possible ERA/EFT options
- Maintain or exceed daily productivity goals and quality standards
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records.
- Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of substance abuse/behavioral health billing/payments
- Moderate to advanced excel skills (required)
- Ability to multi-task and manage time
- Ability to solve problems and utilize common knowledge
- Minimum of 1 year experience in payment posting
- Able to handle a fast paced environment and deadlines
- Billing software CollaborateMD (preferred)

Pay: $16.83 - $21.64 per hour
