Patient Transport Technician M-F 8-5, some weekends

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include the following. Responsible for operation of company vehicle for collection, transportation and handover of patients. Ensures a safe environment for patients and equipment in vehicle. Complete cleaning and maintenance activities for company vehicles, transport equipment and durable medical equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for the safe and timely transport of patients, medical equipment and patient-related items.
- Maintains consistent communication with Intake/Routing Specialist and Medical Equipment/Warehouse Coordinator.
- Ensure patient safety protocols are strictly followed regarding stretchers, wheelchairs, clamps, seat belts, any other necessary equipment and patient property.
- Ensure appropriate reaching, lifting and handling techniques are followed when moving patients and equipment.
- Responsible for cleaning equipment and loading onto vehicles.
- Maintains standard precautions in contacts with patients and equipment, and maintains integrity of sanitary packaging of supplies.
- Maintains oxygen equipment in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintains order and cleanliness of warehouse, vehicles, equipment and supplies.
- Delivers, installs, and retrieves materials from patients' homes, residential facilities and other healthcare facilities as required.
- Submits patient delivery orders to appropriate staff for entry.
- Works with patients/families to resolve complaints regarding materials as required.
- Refuses to accept gifts or gratuities from vendors, patients and families.
- Remains in the service area during emergencies, and as appropriate and/or as scheduled, to work up to, during, and after the emergency to assist in providing quality care to all patients/clients. If you reside in a mandatory evacuation area and so must evacuate, or if there are any special family needs that need to be accommodated, management must be notified. Management will be sensitive to those needs but must be kept apprised of your location and a source of contact during an emergency so that, if required, they are able to reach you.
