Position Summary -
Each member of the front desk team is responsible for creating a friendly and warm welcome to every patient. The front desk is the first and last impression that our patients have of the office. One must possess attention to detail, be able to multi-task and work gracefully under pressure.

- Superior customer service skills
- Great interpersonal skills; demonstrating patience, composure and cooperation; working well with all patients, physicians and staff.
- Understanding of and adherence to all safety, risk management and precautionary procedures, including the consistent respect for confidentiality (HIPAA)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Greets patients in a professional and friendly manner with eye contact and a smile. Registers patients promptly while checking for accuracy and completion of necessary information and records information in the computer and charts.
- Answers telephones, takes messages, screens and directs calls appropriately. Provides information to patients and the general public with a professional and caring demeanor. Refers patient problems appropriately to medical staff and does not give medical advice. Retrieves messages from voicemail and directs or return calls.
- Schedules, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments in a timely manner.
- Maintains and updates physician schedules and coordinates with management, physician and back office personnel. Reviews schedules weekly and makes necessary changes.
- Pulls and prepares medical records for daily clinical appointments. Files and scans all reports and documents in patient charts in a timely fashion.
- Collects co-payments and posts to patient accounts. Balances and accounts for all payments taken at the front office daily.
- Performs general office functions.
- Helps other staff as needed. Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality.
- Acts as liaison between the patient and the various clinic areas. Contributes to the overall success of the practice with a cheerful disposition.
Education/Experience/Skills
Education/Experience
- Must have at least one year of experience in a medical receptionist position.
- Must be computer literate and have experience in medical billing and EHR systems. NextGen, Greenway PrimeSuite, and EPIC experience preferred.

- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients, MD’s and staff.
