Patient Services Liaison Details

The Patient Services Liaison (PSL) is Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and registration, cross scheduling for Primary, Medical, Surgical and Ancillary appointments across the entire UPHS health system. Liaison appointment scheduling includes but is not limited to office visits, ancillary testing, and education throughout UPHS. Liaison scheduling acts as a first point of contact for patients/customers calling into the Penn Health Referral scheduling prompt. Assist patients with navigating the health system for an accurate provider match throughout the entire UPHS health system. Must have the ability to nurture calls by transitioning patient inquiries into a scheduled appointment. Consistently displays superior customer service skills when interacting with patients, caregivers, providers, staff, and all other callers. Provides callers/patients with referrals to physicians and services across the entire health system. Speaks with patients/callers using clear and professional language, and proactively resolves patient concerns/issues. Strictly adheres to Epic and Salesforce guidelines and clinical protocols during all patient interactions. Needs to have a well-rounded understanding of the UPHS Health System. Complete specific training and guideline for superuser program.

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; 2 or 4 years’ college degree preferred. 3-4 years of medical office experience, or 5 or more years of customer service experience, required. Advanced degree (Associates, Bachelors, Masters) may be considered in lieu of experience. Thorough knowledge of third party insurance coverage guidelines preferred. Must successfully complete/pass EPIC schedgistration training/tests.

Additional Information:
This role will be offering remote work opportunities. The need to be onsite for meetings and training classes may be required. When onsite work is required, it will be at 3400 Civic Center Blvd.
