This opportunity is for a Patient Care Assistant for our Med Surg team. This Department of Riverside Doctors Hosptial provides outstanding care to patients with excellent patient quality of care outcomes. The selected Patient Care Assistant will be part of a team that works in a supportive and collaborative culture that with others, provides competent and compassionate care to all patients and their families.
Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of the patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified functions in tasks where there is validated competency including: simple wound care (i.e. cleaning of abrasions/laceration) EKGs peripheral INT removal and basic phlebotomy. Care team personnel will provide education and validate team member has met required competency to perform skills specific to job description. In addition this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers incorporating national patient safety initiatives.

Colonial Williamsburg has many historical sites and the College of William and Mary is the second oldest institution for higher education in the United States.Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma preferred
Experience: Previous health care experience preferred
Licensure/Certification:Required to be (1) licensed or eligible by the State of Virginia as a C.N.A., or (2) EMT-B, or (3) have completed a Medical Assistant program/certification, or (4) currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program with 80 hours completed.
