Position Overview:
Primary responsibilities are to obtain medical history and perform nursing assessment and treatment for pre-operative bariatric patients, as well as to provide a comprehensive nursing assessment evaluation and treatment for post-operative bariatric patients in the outpatient clinic under the supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator. Secondary responsibilities are to manage BOLD data entry, triage clinical phone calls, review abnormal test results and clearances, and to perform final chart reviews for all patients prior to submission for insurance authorization.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's of Science preferred. Experience: Three to five years experience in clinical care or customer service required Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, change management, decision making, customer service, process facilitation, interpersonal relations, oral communication, teamwork, written communication, diversity, and empathy. Demonstrated knowledge of procedures for maintaining security, confidentiality, and integrity of employee, patient, family, and other medical information License, certification: Registered Nurse required. Current BCLS for healthcare provider required. Special Skills and/or Equipment Used: Ability to assess and perform supervised treatment of perioperative bariatric patients Ability to maintain sensitivity in caring for the unique population of bariatric patients. Must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's specific needs and provide care needed. Exceptional communication ability and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify problems, resolve conflict and administer appropriate service recovery programs. Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of constituents, including patients, family, physicians, and hospital staff. Develop and support appropriate data bases to track and trend customer concerns. Ability to present educational sessions for large or small groups on customer service and service recovery principles.
