Empowered Minds CC (EMC2) - Long Beach, CA

We are a learning community interested in providing a unique approach to K-8 learning for traditional Homeschooling and Charter-based Homeschooling families. We are currently seeking and recruiting teaching staff to work with our families in their academic journey.

We at Empowered Minds C C or EMC² , believe that learning is a life-long journey. We encourage the entire family to engage in the learning experience with their enrolled scholar(s). Parent involvement is not only welcomed, it is encouraged. It is our goal and desire to empower young scholars and their families with an undying desire to learn.

At EMC² we emphasize application as well as relevance. Each day focuses on at least one discipline and includes: a project-based activity, concept dissection by a qualified instructor, features concept presentation incorporating a variety of learning styles, physical activity and life skills. Scholars are simultaneously taught self-management as they immerse themselves in the learning of the day. EMC² presents academic concepts in a fun and stimulating way through relationships and project-based learning assignments. Most projects will incorporate age appropriate societal impact discussions. This technique inspires strengths such as teamwork, cooperation, goal orientation, mindfulness, independence, self-empowerment and social responsibility to name a few.

We are seeking enthusiastic, energetic, passionate staff who love Science, Math & children. We seek passionate professionals who can breathe life and excitement into their teaching. Successful candidates will be pursuing a career in Education and be versed in providing education in the many learning styles of children. Please read on for other characteristics of a qualified candidate.

Teaching credential is not required for this positions. First Aid/CPR training is also a plus but not required of all positions. Candidates MUST be fingerprinted, clear a background check and offer reliable references.

  • Ability to generate exciting and motivating, easy to follow, lesson plans

Fingerprint search fees may be reimbursed after hire.

Application Process is as follows:

  • Interested, well qualified candidates submit an inquiring email with 1-page bio, cover letter and resume’ with four (4) references (1 professional, 1 supervisor, 1 family, and 1 friend). Promising candidates will be contacted for an initial interview. (About 1 full week)
  • Top candidates will be invited to a second and group interview. (About 2 days)
  • Candidates who show impressive and exceptional techniques will be asked to undergo fingerprints and background screening. (about 2 days)
  • Once clearance is received a start date will be announced. (about 1-2 weeks)

We will be operating in Long Beach this Fall with a weekly schedule of Monday 9 am - noon and Tuesday – Thursday 8:00 am-3:30 pm with a half hour lunch. Lunch is provided. Our compensation is competitive and based on education/experience.
