Sage Recovery Villa is a 15-bed, 35-day residential treatment center for adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issues. This luxury treatment center is located on 24-acres of countryside estate, just east of Austin, in Manor, TX.
Sage Recovery Villa is currently seeking a Sous Chef to shape a recovery-oriented culinary experience for our clients, promoting wellness through nutrition, centered around seasonal, organic ingredients with the guidance of a registered dietician.
Position Title: Villa Relief Cook
Reports to: Villa Head Chef
Position Summary:
The Relief Chef is responsible for preparing and serving clients nutritious meals as directed by the Head Chef, while ensuring all local and state health department standards are met.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of ingredients for daily menu, including washing, cutting, baking, etc. of food items
- Prepares meals per curated menu efficiently and with care to ensure scheduled client mealtimes are met
- Adapts menu to provide alternatives based on client allergy or dietary restrictions
- Implements substitute of like ingredients due to availability or ordering issues
- Maintains inventory storage and labelling standards, including expiration dates and notating waste
- Puts away food deliveries quickly and efficiently to ensure temperatures are controlled
- Maintains inventory counts/logs, and reports discrepancies to Head Chef
- Demonstrates, coaches and promotes adherence to food safety standards and a clean, safe and orderly workstation
- Reviews and completes daily staff communications, including temperature/task logs and notes
- Contributes to workplace culture of positivity and teamwork, fostering open communication, creative solutions, and good morale
- Reports any kitchen or staff related issues to the Head Chef or Residential Services Manager
- Maintains professional boundaries with staff and uphold client confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines

Skills & Specifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of local and state health department standards
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 35 pounds
- Must be prepared to obtain any additional licenses or certificates necessary to comply with state law
Education & Qualification:
- High-school diploma or equivalent recommended
- Current Food Handler's Certificate
- 1-2 years' experience in food preparation and production, preferably in a restaurant/catering/group setting
- Night/weekend/holiday flexibility
Hours:
- This is a part-time, hourly position.
- Regular hours are dependent on additional hires, but will include evenings and some weekend shifts

- Follow recipes and presentation specifications

- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation

- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
